What Our Customers Say
Don’t just take our word for it. Here’s what our customers have to say about working with Treesafe.
We have used Sam and his team several times and highly recommend them for their professional and friendly service, as well as being well priced! Sam is always very clear when quoting regarding options they can offer depending on what you want to achieve and what your budget is. As an example they can fell the trees and leave for you to do what you want with, or cut up for firewood, or mulch them and take away not leaving a trace, or a combination of those. We have had several VERY large trees removed, some cut up into fire wood too, as well as some large trees pruned. I dont know how they do it, but they have always carried out the work without any damage to surrounding trees or other structures like buildings or fences and left the area all cleaned up. The stump grinding has made a huge difference to the finished look too. We will use them again, without hesitation, on any future jobs that we need doing and cant recommend them highly enough.

I highly recommend Treesafe! We had 44 meters of bamboo in our small backyard which was causing me excessive gardening work, and risking the bamboo running into our neighbor’s yard. Treesafe was tasked to remove the Bamboo. The working crew were nothing short of amazing. They carried their duty in a well coordinated, friendly, efficient and professional fashion. The completion of the work went beyond our expectation. Moreover, one of their landscape qualified staff identified other requirements for best keeping of our backyard. Treesafe walked the extra mile, their working ethic is a gem and as such, it is rare to come across these days. Finally, they left our backyard pristine, cleaned and looking fabulous!

Stump Grinding or Complete Stump Removal?
Stump grinding and complete stump removal both clear unwanted tree stumps, but they involve different processes. The right option depends on the stump, access to the property and how you plan to use the area afterwards.
Stump Grinding
Stump grinding uses specialised machinery to grind the stump and accessible surface roots below the surrounding soil level. It is generally the fastest, most affordable and least disruptive option.
Stump grinding is usually suitable when you want to:
- Lay new turf
- Create a garden bed
- Remove a trip or mowing hazard
- Improve the appearance of the area
- Clear space without extensive excavation
The wider underground root system remains in place and naturally breaks down over time. Grinding the stump also reduces the likelihood of unwanted regrowth, although some tree species may continue producing shoots from remaining roots.
Complete Stump Removal
Complete stump removal involves excavating the stump and root ball from the ground. It causes more ground disturbance than grinding, but it may be necessary when the area is being prepared for structural work.
Complete removal may be recommended when you are planning:
- A new driveway or paved area
- Retaining wall construction
- Building or renovation work
- Excavation in the same location
- Other work requiring the root ball to be cleared
Our team will assess the site and explain which option is best for what you have planned.
When Gold Coast Properties Need This
- Residential Yards and Pool Areas. Compact grinders handle narrow side access, tight courtyards and pool surrounds without chewing up the lawn on the way in.
- Canal and Coastal Properties. A lot of Gold Coast homes have concrete edging, retaining walls or pool fencing right next to the stump. We work carefully around all of it.
- Acreage and Hinterland Blocks. From Tamborine Mountain to Nerang and Tallebudgera, we handle bigger stumps, deeper root systems and multiple removals in one visit.
- Commercial and Strata Sites. Resorts, builders and body corporates needing several stumps cleared with minimal disruption to the rest of the site.
- Storm-Damaged Trees. Where a trunk’s already come down, we can take out what’s left and grind or remove the stump in the same call-out. If a storm’s done more than that to the property, our emergency and storm response team can take on the rest.
We cover the Gold Coast from Southport and Surfers Paradise down through Burleigh Heads, Robina and Helensvale, out to Coomera and the hinterland around Nerang and Tamborine Mountain.

We look at the stump size, species, access and what’s nearby, then give you an upfront quote and a clear recommendation on grinding versus removal.

3
Clean Finish
The area’s tidied before we leave, mulch handled the way you want it, and the ground left ready for whatever’s next.
Why Gold Coast Properties Choose Treesafe
Treesafe has been clearing stumps across the Gold Coast for more than 20 years, and have many 5 star reviews Gooogle reviews from customers who keep coming back to us. Every job is licensed and insured, and our arborists are QAA approved.
The equipment we run is built for tight access, so pool surrounds, retaining walls and canal-front blocks get the same careful treatment as an open backyard. Grinding goes below ground level every time, which is what actually stops regrowth, not just cutting the visible stump flush. And the recommendation you get is based on your property and your plans, not on whichever job suits us better that day.
For anything beyond the stump itself, our tree removal and land clearing teams can take on the rest of the property in the same booking.

Stump Grinding & Removal Questions
What's the difference between stump grinding and stump removal?
Grinding takes the stump and roots down below the soil surface, which is enough to stop regrowth and clear a trip hazard. Removal takes the entire root ball out of the ground, which matters if you’re building on top of that spot.
Is grinding usually enough, or do I need full removal?
For most lawns, gardens and general landscaping, grinding is enough. Full removal really only comes into play when there’s a foundation, driveway, retaining wall or other structure going in over the roots.
Can you work near pools, paving or retaining walls?
Yes. It’s a big part of what we do on the Gold Coast, where pools, pavers and retaining walls sit close to the stump on most blocks. Our equipment is chosen for that.
How long does the job take?
A single stump is usually 30 to 60 minutes for grinding. Removal takes longer, since the root ball has to come out intact. Bigger jobs or multiple stumps are quoted as one visit.
What happens to the mulch or the root ball?
Mulch from grinding can be left for your garden beds or taken away. With full removal, the root ball is taken off site unless you’d rather keep it for something.
Whether it’s one stump left over from a tree that’s already down, or the last step on a full land clearing job, Treesafe can grind it or take it out completely. If the stump is part of something bigger, tell us when you call and we’ll quote the whole job together. If there’s anything else on the property worth a look while we’re there, our experienced team can help with that too.
