Getting a 10-acre Currumbin Valley property ready for sale
The owners of a 10-acre property in Currumbin Valley were about to put it on the market. Before it went up for sale, they brought in Treesafe Environmental Services to sort out the trees around the house.
Trees crowding a house about to go to market
Several trees stood close to the house, limbs were reaching towards and over the roof, and the liquidambars were carrying too much weight. Leaf litter was filling the gutters, and parts of the property had become dense, shaded and damp, the kind of spots that can turn wet and mouldy. The block also had camphor laurels, a pest species in this part of the valley.
Pruning to keep the trees worth keeping
Not every tree needed to go. Our arborists used directional pruning and weight reduction to manage the liquidambars without taking them out, and cut back the limbs heading towards the house. That meant less leaf litter in the gutters and more natural light reaching the ground.
Selected trees close to the house were removed, along with the camphor laurels, and the crew followed up with substantial stump grinding before cleaning up the property.
