Clearing 1,700m² for a granny flat in Logan, finished in one day
A Logan homeowner was ready to build a granny flat, but the site was full of large gum trees. Treesafe Environmental Services cleared 1,700 square metres, stumps and all, and had the block ready for construction by the end of the day.
A build site with big gums and a house 10 metres away
The granny flat was going in about 10 metres from the existing house. Large gums stood across the proposed footprint, and some were already a potential danger to the home. The block also had to meet its bushfire rating requirements, so it wasn’t only about making room for the build. Enough vegetation had to come out to satisfy the clearance the property needed.
Bringing large gums down right beside the house
Our six-person crew used a 30-metre elevated work platform to reach the canopy and bring the gums down safely, then fed the timber and branches through a whole-tree chipper. A 14-tonne excavator dug the stumps out of the ground rather than leaving them behind, and the remaining vegetation was processed and cleared. Once the trees were gone, the crew stick-raked the whole site and finished with a full clean-up.

Level, tidy and ready for the builders
The job was done in one day. The block was left level and tidy, and the owner could move straight into the next stage of the granny flat build. They were stoked with the result.
